A new Cyberpunk 2077 trailer was shown at the Microsoft press conference at E3, and to say it got wild would be an understatement, as it revealed none other than Mr John Wick himself, Keanu Reeves.
E3 is the biggest gaming conference in the world where developers from all corners of the game universe come to display what they have in the pipeline. Doesn't get any bigger right? Wrong. Having Keanu Reeves reveal he's part of an upcoming game about a future gone awry, THAT'S how you make it bigger, and CD Projekt Red have just ramped up the hype for their latest IP.
The trailer reveals the character V making a deal for a chip, which segues into a flashback of his friend dying during a heist. As V comes back to the present, it becomes clear he's been conned into a trap and must use his enhanced, cybernetic self to dispose of the enemy NPCs.
This then cuts to the wickedly, voltron-like coming together of the Cyberpunk logo and a rebooting animation in which the dazed and confused camera focuses to reveal Keanu's character. And the crowd goes wild!
It seems Mr Reeves is about as hot as Zoolander's Hansel right now, and having him a part of the gaming world is a massive jolt for the mainstream audience to sit up and pay attention.
Cyberpunk 2077 will release on April 16th, 2020. But don't take my word for it, listen to the man himself (and if you're anything like us, have his awesomely monstrous voice say "cyberpunk" on repeat for the next 4 hours).
